Internaltional military operations
 | According to the decision of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the maximum of 420 military servicemembers of the Lithuanian Armed Forces and civilian personnel serving with the Lithuanian Armed Forces is allowed to be deployed on multinational operations in the Balkan Region, Central and South Asia, South Caucasus and the Persian Gulf till 31 December 2013. |
Lithuania takes part in multinational missions on the basis of collective defence and security treaties. By fulfilling such commitments Lithuania contributes to the efforts of the international community to increase security and stability in the Euro-Atlantic area and also puts into practice priorities of national foreign policy.
