International operations
Troops of Juozas Vitkus Engineer Battalion have been deployed to multinational missions in Iraq, Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 2005 soldiers of the Battalion have been taking part in the international mission in Afghanistan, Provincial Reconstruction Team of Ghowr. Their main task in the international half-year deployment is search for and neutralization of IEDs. In spring of 2011 13th shift of deminers were sent to Afghanistan. | ||
