Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf" - the unit of the Land forces of the Lithuanian armed forces.

 

The command of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf" and its elements are deployed in the central part of Lithuania, Rukla town, Jonava district.

 

The Mechanized Infantry Brigade "Iron Wolf" currently consists of the command and its elements and four battalions: three mechanized infantry battalions (Lithuanian Grand Duke Algirdas, Lithuanian Grand Duke Kestutis, Lithuanian Duke Vaidotas) and  General Romualdas Giedraitis artillery battalion. The battalions are deployed in Rukla and Taurage. 

 

The soldiers of the brigade continually participate in exercises of various levels in Lithuania and as in abroad as well. Also they are conducting peace keeping operations and contribute to the execution of the NATO led international operation in Afghanistan. The units of the brigade prepare for the country defense and peace time operations in Lithuania. In the tenet of rotation the soldiers of the brigade conduct stand-by periods in the NATO Response Force (NRF) and European Union Battle Group (EU BG).
