  Key objectives of the Movement Control Centre 

               of the Lithuanian Armed Forces

 

 

 

 

  • To control foreign states military transit across the territory of the Republic of Lithuania. To control the implementation of border-crossing procedures mandatory for military units of foreign states when they are allowed to attend military exercises or other international events in Lithuania in keeping with the procedures outlined by the law, or when they are allowed to cross Lithuania en route to military exercises or other international events in a Third Country;
  • To organise and carry out military transportation for the Lithuanian Armed Forces. To draft orders to be issued by the Lithuanian Armed Forces Commander to Lithuanian Armed Forces units attending joint exercises with military units of foreign states or other international events abroad.
  • To document all the freight entering or leaving the National Defence System for Lithuanian Customs;
  • To control the transit of the 1st and, partly, 2nd-9th categories of hazardous cargo across the territory of the Republic of Lithuania. To issue single permits for the import, export or transit of freight attributable to the 1st category of hazardous cargo across the territory of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • To control, in collaboration with other services, the import, export and transit of strategic goods and technologies across the territory of the Republic of Lithuania;
  • To maintain the Centre's combat readiness and to carry out military national defence tasks as ordered;
