The Squadron of Mine countermeasure ships
The Squadron of Mine countermeasures was established in 1999, which consisted of mine hunter-sweeper M52 Suduvis and a support ship, A41 Vetra. In year 2001 the squadron accessed by another Lindau class mine hunter-sweeper, M51 Kursis.
In year 2006 Vidar class staff and support ship N42 Jotvingis replaced support ship A41 Vėtra. Support ship A41 Vėtra was decommissioned in year 2007.
At the end of year 2010 and at the beggining of year 2011 the squadron accessed by two modernised Hunt class mine countermeasure ships - M53 Skalvis and M54 Kursis.
Currently, the Squadron of mine countermeasure ships embraces four mine countermeasure ships M51, M52 Suduvis, M53 Skalvis, M54 Kursis and staff and support ship N42 Jotvingis.

The vessels are driven by 2 diesel MTU type engines.
The ships are armed with 40mm BOFORS artillery guns, DSK (12.7mm) machine-guns, combat radio-electronic devices, mine destruction charges.
Mine detection and classification sonar S193, 2 underwater robots and trawling equipment are used for mine searching and clearing operations.
EOD divers can be implemented for specific underwater tasks.

Crew-up to 40 persons.
The vessels are driven by 2 diesel CATERPILLAR type engines.
The ships are armed with 40mm BOFORS artillery guns, MG 3 machine-guns.
Mine detection and classification sonar S2193 and underwater mine inspection and destruction robots K-STER are used for mine searching and clearing operations.
EOD divers can be implemented for specific underwater tasks.

Tonnage - 1.500 tons
Maximum speed - 15 knots
The vessel is driven by 2 Wichmann diesel 4.200 HP engines.
N42 Jotvingis is armed with 2 BOFORS L/70(40mm) guns, DSK (12.7mm) machine-guns.
The mission of the staff and support vessel, N42 Jotvingis is to be a platform for the staff during exercises and operations and to provide all-purpose logistical support not only to the mine-hunters but also to the entire flotilla of ships.
