On November 18 President of the Republic of Lithuania HE Gitanas Nausėda promoted Chief of Defence Valdemaras Rupšys to the military rank of lieutenant general and Chief of the Defence Staff Gintautas Zenkevičius to the rank of major general for their impeccable service and strengthening the country and the Armed Forces.

In the evening of November 17 the main stage of the international Exercise Iron Wolf 2019-II of the Mechanised Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf, Lithuanian Armed forces ,wrapped. After two weeks of training defensive and offensive actions at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area (Švenčionys region) and surrounding territories, the action has concluded and soldiers will return to their permanent bases.

On November 10 forces of two Lithuanian Armed Force Battalions started tactical movement from the areas of assembly in Švenčionėliai town to Pabradė starting the first sizeable operation of the international Exercise Iron Wolf 2019-II - an over 1.5 thousand strong attack on the positions of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group in and around the Pabradė Training Area.

Training audience of the international Exercise Iron Wolf 2019-II organized by the Mechanized Infantry Brigade Iron Wolf that began earlier this week have successfully assembled in training sights over the course of two days via Lithuanian roads. The main parts of the training audience -the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battalion Battle Group, Grand Duchess Birutė Uhlan Battalion, and Algirdas Mechanised Infantry Battalion with assigned Lithuanian and NATO allies' units - have set up temporary assembly areas at the Lithuanian Armed Forces General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė and territories of unused former factories near and begun preparing for offensive and defensive operations that will soon begin.

On November 4 international Exercise Iron Wolf 2019-II including nearly 4,000 soldiers from 11 NATO allies begins. Participants will bring approx. 1,000 military vehicles to the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė. Movement of military vehicles on Lithuania's roads will reach its peak on November 4 and 5.

On October 31 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Maj Gen Valdemaras Rupšys paid a visit to the rotational United States force deployed at the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė. He was interested in the service conditions and Host Nation Support rendered by Lithuania that the guests were receiving and in American troops' needs and combat training plans.
