On March 18-20 Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Major General Valdemaras Rupšys was on a visit to Sweden to attend Distinguished Visitors Day of Exercise Northern Wind 2019. It is the first exercise of such scope and nature organised in Sweden since 1991, preparations for the event this year took nearly two years.

On March 19 he was formally welcomed in Zagreb in front of the General Staff of the Croatian Armed Forces, then Lithuania's Chief of Defence met with Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia Damir Krstičević and Chief of Defence of Croatia Gen Mirko Šundov.

On February 7 Chief of Defence of Lithuania Lieutenant General Jonas Vytautas Žukas attended UK-led Joint Expeditionary Force-contributing countries' Chief of Defence Conference in London.

Chiefs of Defence of Denmark, Estonia, United Kingdom, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Finland and Sweden had an in-depth discussion on the opportunities of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) deployment, capability development projects and plans, and draft combat training plan for the coming three years.
