Military vehicles will drive on the roads of Lithuania on Monday and Tueasday as international Eercise Iron Wolf 2019-II is beginning

On November 4 international Exercise Iron Wolf 2019-II including nearly 4,000 soldiers from 11 NATO allies begins. Participants will bring approx. 1,000 military vehicles to the General Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area in Pabradė. Movement of military vehicles on Lithuania's roads will reach its peak on November 4 and 5.


On November 4 military vehicles will move since the morning on the routes Rukla - Vievis - Maišiagala - Pabradė and Rukla - Ukmergė - Maišiagala - Pabradė, and smaller columns will be going to the Training Area from Kaunas and Radviliškis. On November 5 the major part of exercise participants will go to the Gen Silvestras Žukauskas Training Area from Alytus and the smaller part - from Rukla.


The main phase of Exercise Iron Wolf 2019- will run until November 18 and the equipment will deploy back to its homebases on November 18 through 22. In total, over 1,000 military vehicles - tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, artillery systems, support and command post vehicles - will be used in the exercise.


All the columns will be escorted by the Military Police of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, civilian drivers are asked to please be attentive and thanked for their understanding.


Exercise Iron Wolf 2019-II is organised by the Mechanised Infantry Brigade of the Lithuanian Armed Forces, it will be attended by approx. 4,000 Lithuanian and allied troops from Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal United Kingdom, and the United States of America to rehearse interoperability while planning and conducting offensive and defensive operations
