Military Health Care

Soldiers' Health Care is carrying at the Military Health Care Branch's and Military Health Care Centers Group's Units in accordance with Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defence statements. Military Health Care Branch and Military Health Care Centers Group are responsible for the second main task of MD Jonas Basanavičius Military Medical Service - to take care of military society's health.

 

 

Military Health Care Branch's and Military Health Care Centers Group's structures consist of:
• Military Medical Center
• Military Rehabilitation Center
• Primary Military Health Care Centers with subordinate offices
• Military Medical Expertise Commission
• Military Public Health Section

Military Health Care Supplies Planning and Control Section manages these units.

 

 

There are three health care stages in Lithuania. Primary health care is provided at the Primary Military Health Care Centers and its subordinate offices. Military Medical Center and Military Rehabilitation Center provides secondary health care. Specialized health care is provided at the public and municipal health care institutions according to the treaties.


Military Medical Expertise Commission conducts medical examination of recruits and soldiers and provides conclusions about their fitness for military service.


Military Public Health Section organizes and implements public health care of the military society and ensures control of implementing means of public health care within the National Defence System.
