Command Sergeant Major Darius Masiulis

 


CSM Darius Masiulis is a Command Sergeant Major of National Defense Volunteer Forces (NDVF) of the Armed Forces of Lithuania.

 

CSM Masiulis was born on 1 October, 1976. He was drafted into the Armed Forces of Lithuania as a conscript in 1995. After one year of service, he enlisted in the Armed Forces and became a Recruiter in his home town Taurage. Other duty assignments include: Squad Leader, S2 NCO, Command Sergeant Major of the 3rd District of NDVF, Command Sergeant Major of the 1st District of NDVF, Operations Sergeant Major at the Logistics Support Command of the Armed Forces of Lithuania and Command Sergeant Major of the Logistics Support Command of the Armed Forces of Lithuania. He served a tour of three years in NATO Allied Command Operations, located at the Supreme Headquarters Allied Power Europe (SHAPE), Belgium, and for two of those years he served as a Watchkeeper in the Strategic Direction Centre (NATO Operations Centre) and one year as a senior NCO of the Strategic Direction Centre. CSM Darius Masiulis was deployed to Afghanistan in 2009 through 2010 where he served as a Command Sergeant Major of Lithuanian led Provincial Reconstruction Team in Ghowr province, RC W.

 

CSM Masiulis' military education includes: Squad Leader (Infantry) Course; Platoon Sergeant (Infantry) Course; Royal Irish Rangers Platoon Sergeant Course; Royal Irish Rangers Company Sergeant Major Course; Platoon (Motorized) Leader Course; and Platoon (Anti-armor) Leader Course. He is a graduate of the U. S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 54. CSM Masiulis holds a bachelor's degree in Defense and Security Institutions Management.


CSM Masiulis awards and decorations include: Ministry of Defense Medal for Deployment on International Missions; Ministry of Defense Commemorative Medal of Lithuania's Accession to NATO; Armed Forces Medal of Merit (with bronze Pillars of Gediminas); Land Forces Medal for Distinguished Service; National Defense Volunteer Forces Medal for Distinguished Service; Armed Forces Medal for Outstanding Service; USA Pennsylvania Commendation Medal; Estonian Defense Medal of Merit; NATO Non-Article V (ISAF) Medal; NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4); National Defense Volunteer Forces Badge.
