History

 

  Training Regiment is named after Jonušas Radvila the Great Lithuanian hetman (commander of Land forces) in the middle of 17th century.

Official day of the establishment of the Training Regiment is on 1 October 1998
On 12 April 1999 there were drafted 309 first conscripts.
On 22 may 1999 conscripts took an oath of allegiance in the presence HE President Valdas Adamkus.
On 21 February 2000 Training Regiment was named after Great Hetman Jonušas Radvila.
On 25 May 2000 Training Regiment was solemnly presented with regimental colors.
1998 - 2000 Commander of the Training Regiment was Col. Stasys Levulis.
2000 - 2006 Commander of the Training Regiment was Lt.Col. Rimas Zinkevičius.
2006 - 2007 Commander of the Training Regiment was Col. Arūnas Dudavičius.
2007 -2012  Commander of the Training Regiment  was Lt. Col. Renatas Chrimlis.

2012 -2015 Commander of the Training Regiment was  Lt. Col. Algirdas Norkus.

On 18 September 2015 Commander of the Training Regiment was appointed Lt. Col. Aleksiejus Gaiževskis.

On 6 May 2008 Training Regiment started training professional soldiers (of basic soldier course)
From 2010 14 December School of Military Engineering, School of Reconnaissance and M113 armored personnel carriers and driver training center moved to the Land Forces Training Centre.

From 9 July 2012 started new Basic Military Training Course for volunteer forces.
